pm | Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (30th Dec 25 at 4:13pm UTC) Mirza Ghulam Ahmad | | Why is the belief in the finality of prophethood so central to Islam?
The belief in the finality of prophethood is central because it affirms that the message of Islam, as completed and perfected through Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), is complete, final, and universally applicable. Muslims believe that the guidance contained in the Qur’an and Sunnah is sufficient for all times and places, and no further prophets are needed to supplement or change it.
Because Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani made claims interpreted by Muslim scholars as asserting prophethood after Muhammad (pbuh), his teachings are rejected in mainstream Islam. Upholding the finality of prophethood is not only a theological position but also a foundation for Muslim identity and belief, affirming that Muhammad (pbuh) is the last and final messenger sent by Allah. | |
